1. Summary
TBS Field Guide is a paid, offline iOS reference app. It does not require an account, does not include ads, and does not sell personal data.
2. Data we collect
None from our servers. This build does not operate a developer backend that receives your content. We do not include a third-party analytics SDK in this build.
3. Data stored on your device
The app may store locally:
- Packing checklist checkmarks
- Bookmarks and recently read article IDs
- Must-pass tracker status and phase/week preferences
- Draft text you enter into fillable forms and course tools
- Your acceptance of Terms / Disclaimer
This data remains in on-device storage unless you delete the app or clear it. This app’s code does not sync that data to iCloud.
4. Sharing
We do not share personal data with third parties for advertising or analytics. If you use system Share, Print, or AirPrint, Apple and your chosen destination handle that transfer under their policies.
5. Sensitive / restricted information
Do not enter classified, FOUO, CUI, medical, or other sensitive personal data into drafts. You are responsible for what you type and share.
6. Children
The app is intended for adults (commissioned/appointed officers and related adult learners). It is not directed at children under 13.
7. Your choices
Uninstall the app to remove local data. You may clear form drafts from each form’s Clear draft control, or by editing fields.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance for App Store purposes.
9. Non-affiliation
TBS Field Guide is an independent, privately developed educational app. It is NOT an official product of, and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to:
- The United States Marine Corps (USMC)
- The Basic School (TBS) or Marine Corps Base Quantico
- The Department of the Navy
- The Department of Defense (DoD)
- The U.S. Government or any military service, command, or schoolhouse
Names such as “Marine Corps,” “The Basic School,” “TBS,” “Quantico,” and related marks may appear only for factual educational identification of a publicly known course and location. No official seal, emblem, or insignia is used to imply endorsement.
